KILIM - Denoting a flat woven textile where the pattern is produced by horizontal wefts covering the vertical warps, Kilim is most commonly associated with Turkey and Antatolia, however this technique was also practiced in Persia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Central Asia, throughout the Caucasus and historical China. Generally considered a tribal weaving, motifs trend toward bold, large scale swaths of color and geometric frameworks.
